    For 5th graders, SOC mentoring takes place in the 5th grade math room from 3:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. once a month on Mondays. All sessions are co-facilitated by Judy Brown and Bryan Williams.

    Georgetown Day School invites current students, current parents, and alumni to use the High School field and gym.

    Purpose
    The purpose of the community use times is to allow families and friends to spend time playing with one another. All of the gym and field space is open to all participants. If you would like to find time for your team to practice, please contact the auxiliary programs office for rental information.

    The GDS field ranger who is staffing the community use times is in charge. Guests are expected to follow her/his directions at all times. Space will be unavailable on days when School is closed and during the summer. In addition, the School reserves the right to cancel the community use times for school events, inclement weather, or insufficient staffing with little or no notice.

    Participation
    Children under age 18 may not be unsupervised. There must be at least one supervising parent/guardian for every five children. Parents are expected to actively supervise their children.

    Due to liability, GDS is unable to permit children who are not currently enrolled and adults who are neither current parents/guardians nor alumni to participate in the community use times. If you are not supervising your own child, you carry some level of liability while you supervise children who are not your own.

    All participants must carry current health insurance.

    Middle School Curriculum Night

    All MS parents are invited to meet their child's teachers and learn more about our academic programming. At this back-to-school night, parents can get a snapshot of their child's school day experience.

    GDS 360 is offering childcare for this night for our families. Children will eat cheese pizza and watch a G-rated movie while families navigate through curriculum night. Children can be dropped off *as early as 6:15 p.m. and picked up at 9:15 p.m. While non-GDS students (within the family) are able to attend, they must be at least 5 year old to join us.     Helping Hoppers Toiletry Drive Launches

    LMS Lobbies
    Helping Hoppers is a GDS high school club dedicated to bettering the DC area. We are currently working with Friendship Place among other organisations to organize toiletry kits for which we need donations of unused toothbrushes and toothpaste. We will have bins in the lower school and middle school lobbies available for you.

    This optional testing opportunity gives students a chance to take a practice ACT and compare and contrast their experiences with the PSAT (which is administered in October).

    GDS Youth Volleyball Clinic

    Join the varsity volleyball team for a free youth volleyball clinic! Come see how we teach skills, practice, and participate in some of our favorite drills and games!
