Georgetown Day School is closed from noon on Friday, March 22 through Tuesday, April 2. All school offices are closed, including Admissions and College Counseling. Any voice or email messages will be returned on April 3. 

During spring break, March 25–29, the Lower/Middle School will host a break camp. To register, visit www.GDS.org/BreakCamp.
Board of Trustees

David B. Smith, Treasurer

David Smith Jr. joined the board in 2013. He is chair of the Finance Committee and serves on the Executive Committee, Facilities Master Planning Committee, and Investment Advisory Committee.

Dave clerked for Judge Douglas H. Ginsburg on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit immediately following law school, was an associate at Shea & Gardner, spent almost ten years at the SEC (where, among other positions, he served as an assistant general counsel in the Legal Policy Group and as an associate director in the Division of Investment Management) and is currently the executive vice president and general counsel of the Mutual Fund Directors Forum. Dave also serves on the boards of Illinois Tool Works, Inc., and the Northern Trust Corporation and is a trustee at Becket-Chimney Corners YMCA and at Carleton College. He served on the board of the Green Acres School from 2005–11, including as board president from 2008–11. Dave has a BA from Carleton College, an MA in English from the University of Chicago, and a JD from Harvard Law School.
