Olympics Bound

Read more about it here. And watch the Olympic trials here!

Montgomery County Youth Poet Laureate

Please join us in congratulating Sosi Audain ’26, who has been named 2026 Montgomery County Youth Poet Laureate. Sosi is the first GDS student in history to receive this accolade, and said she plans to use the platform this year to bring attention to issues such as racial injustice, women’s rights, and immigration. Join her for a reading on February 7 from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Busboys and Poets. You can purchase and read some of her work here.

Candidates for Student Visionaries of the Year for Blood Cancer United

Please join us in congratulating students Noah Petty ’27, Nathan Tureck ’27, and Jonah Levy ’27, who have been accepted as candidates for Blood Cancer United’s Student Visionaries of the Year campaign. Student Visionaries of the Year is a national 7-week challenge through which high school student leaders raise funds and awareness for the fight against blood cancers. The 2026 campaign will kick off January 31 and culminate with a Grand Finale Celebration on Saturday, March 21, at The Mellon Auditorium. Funds raised through the campaign directly support the Blood Cancer United’s mission: to find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
