GDS Website Receives Award

The recently redesigned GDS website has received a Silver Vega Award for mobile and website design. Vega Digital Awards recognize excellence in websites, video, mobile, and social media, among other disciplines, in both local and international markets. GDS was one of four independent schools in the United States to receive a Silver Award in the mobile and web design category.

“In reimagining our website, we hoped to place our unique spirit front and center and highlight qualities that make GDS a joyful place,” said Elvina Tong, digital communications and web manager at GDS. “We’re excited that the site has been recognized for exactly those reasons.”

For the redesigned website, GDS partnered with the web content management and design firm Finalsite. The Connecticut-based company works with schools worldwide to design, build, maintain, and host websites that align with schools’ mission, values, and goals.

“Finalsite was honored to partner with Georgetown Day School for the latest award-winning iteration of its website,” said Robyn Erman, client success manager at Finalsite. “This unique design, born from a collaborative discovery and design process, captures the true spirit of the GDS community, showcasing their passion for learning, growth, and change, with dedicated spaces for prospective families, current families, alumni, faculty/staff, grandparents, and neighbors.”

The redesigned GDS website launched in summer 2025 after a four-month-long process involving multiple campus stakeholders.

Engagement with the new site increased 23 percent in the fourth quarter of 2025 compared to the previous year, thanks in part to numerous new videos created by Emerson Street Media, co-founded by Jeff Goldberg ’94, that were added as part of the redesign. The videos were watched more than 59,000 times from October to December 2025.
