Thanks to our many generous volunteers and donors!
With the generous support of our community, we are thrilled to share that the One Campus. One Mission. One GDS. Campaign exceeded our goal! 2,050 donors came together to raise an extraordinary $52,005,095 to support the One GDS Campaign and its three pillars: a unified GDS campus, financial aid and our Annual Fund. This is, by far, the most significant fundraising effort in our School’s history. We are extraordinarily proud and also grateful not only to the donors but to the more than 100 volunteers who supported this work. In particular, we want to express our gratitude to Kate Koffman and Sid Banerjee, our Campaign Chairs, for their dedication to this incredible effort.
Notably, we achieved 100% participation from the Board of Trustees and Alumni Board and 97% support from faculty and staff, which is truly remarkable! The campaign brought in 339 new donors who were inspired to support this effort and 412 who gave to GDS for the first time in recent years. 70% of our donors increased their giving over prior years and many families made their largest commitments ever to make our vision a reality, including 90 gifts of $100,000 or more.
Every constituency was invited to support the campaign during the various community events we hosted. The inclusive One GDS Campaign boasted 13 grade level house parties, events for former trustees, alumni parents, former faculty and staff, grandparents and events for alumni around the country. Special thanks goes out to the many hosts and event committee members who made us all feel welcome!
Our community came together in this historic way to make One GDS a resounding success. When the new Lower/Middle School is completed, we will proudly recognize each and every family with their own colored pencil on our donor wall (see photo). This visualization of the philanthropic spirit of our community will show generations of GDS families how many people it took to bring this vision to life. Thank you for inspiring us all.
