You, At the Hopper Awards

It’s the Oscars Meets the American Library Association.
When: Monday, March 18, 5:00 PM
Where: LMS Library
Who: You and your family

“...difficult times lie ahead. Soon we must all face the choice between what is a Hopper Award winner and what is not.” – Not J.K. Rowling from not Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

When you attend the Hopper Awards at the Lower School library—and you will attend the Hopper Awards—you will come to understand the superstar status books hold here at GDS. What’s more, you will be part of an engaged citizen-readership: the entire Lower School will have done their best to read and cast their votes for our 14 nominees in three categories.

Arrive at 5:00 p.m. to browse the Book Fair and snag a great seat for the Hopper Awards ceremony at 5:30 p.m.

As the kickoff event for Book Fair 2019, Family Pizza Night is the best buying night for this annual event. When you purchase a Hopper Award winning book, you will receive the student-designed Hopper Award “medal” to adorn your new book.

The students will be prepared to cheer on their favorites as the counts come in. Will you be ready as well? We invite you to check out the list of titles below and start reading in order to better share in the excitement of the evening.

Other highlights of the evening:
  • Book Fair remains open late!
  • Speeches from our 5th grade leaders!
