GDS Guide to Giving
The Power of Philanthropy
The generosity of our community brings the GDS mission to life every day. Whether through a gift to the Hopper Fund, an endowed gift to ensure long-term sustainability, or a legacy gift that secures the future for generations to come, the philanthropic spirit of our community strengthens and enriches the student experience. Learn more below about your options for giving.
Every gift to GDS makes a meaningful impact. Thank you for supporting our mission in action.
1945 Society

Donors who make annual gifts of $2,500 or more are members of the 1945 Society. Named for the year GDS was founded, the 1945 Society was created to offer the School’s philanthropic leaders a way to express their dedication to the founding families’ vision, ideals, and principles--values that remain central to the GDS spirit 80 years later. Each fall, members of the 1945 Society are honored at a reception hosted by the Head of School and the Board of Trustees.

Gladys Stern Legacy Society
This society recognizes individuals who have included Georgetown Day School in their estate plans. Their legacy donations help ensure the School’s financial future and honor the memory of our third Head of School, Gladys Stern, who began her GDS journey as a parent before working for the School in various capacities from 1954 to 1996.
