It will take all of us working together to ensure we prevent the spread of the disease.
We appreciate the support of GDS families in ensuring that all of the students attending school comply with all safety measures. In sending your child to GDS for in-person schooling, you commit to the following statements.
We will take responsibility for our community by:

Getting vaccinated when eligible. GDS requires that all students aged 12 and up and employees be vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) and strongly encourages all students aged 5-11 get vaccinated. 

Keeping our child(ren) home when sick or exposed to COVID-19, including if they are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19.

Alerting the school nurse of any illness, symptoms, or exposure to COVID-19 like symptoms.

Following DC’s travel guidance, which is regularly updated at coronavirus.dc.gov.

Participating in any at-home screening or COVID testing requested by the school.

Adhering to all physical distancing and mask/cloth face covering guidelines at school and in the community.

Avoiding high risk activities as defined by the CDC during times of high transmission of COVID in the community or taking recommended precautions when participating in them.
