Staff Writer, The Marshall Project

Nicole Lewis is a staff writer at The Marshall Project where she writes about the intersection of technology and incarceration. Before joining The Marshall Project, Nicole worked at The Washington Post, contributing to The Fix, The Fact Checker, and the National Desk. She has appeared on several national news outlets to discuss her reporting, including MSNBC Live and NPR's All Things Considered and Weekend Edition. Prior to starting her journalism career, Nicole organized young people of color with wealth into campaigns for racial and economic justice. She is the author of Between A Silver Spoon And The Struggle: Reflections on the Intersection of Racism and Class Privilege, which grew out of many conversations about race and class in our everyday lives. She is a graduate of The University of Michigan and CUNY Graduate School of Journalism. Nicole was raised in the DC area, but she now calls Brooklyn home.
