Nicole Lewis is a staff writer at The Marshall Project. Previously, she wrote for The Fact Checker at the Washington Post. Her work on criminal justice issues has appeared in the New York Times, Slate, and Mother Jones among other outlets. In 2016, Nicole received an Education Writers Association award for magazine and feature writing for her contribution to a series on desegregation in the public school system. Nicole is a graduate of The University of Michigan and CUNY Graduate School of Journalism. She lives in Brooklyn.
