Brian covers technology for CNN, where he focuses on the intersection between business and government. Before joining CNN, Brian was a technology reporter for The Washington Post (2013–19), where he wrote extensively about the media industry's struggle to adapt to the Internet; the battle over net neutrality; and the rise of novel innovations such as self-driving cars. Previously he was a technology correspondent for National Journal. He was also an associate editor at The Atlantic. Brian holds a BA in political science from Middlebury College and an MSc in international relations from the London School of Economics. He speaks two dialects of Chinese and is a native of Washington, D.C. His interests include food, technology, politics and travel.
