  • GDS's 75th
  • Anniversary
Seventy-five years ago, Georgetown Day School was founded as the first integrated school in Washington, DC. Our founders envisioned a school in which children would learn joyfully, in which they would be meaningfully challenged, and in which their education would prepare them to engage as changemakers locally, nationally, and even globally. They established GDS as a school where children love to learn and learn to change the world.

Our 75th school year has been quite different than we ever imagined, and yet our community has persevered. Our students, teachers, and parents have been innovative and creative. They've tackled problems we never could have envisioned, and our students are learning actively both in person and virtually. We have hosted a number of community-wide virtual events this school year in honor of our anniversary, and we look forward to celebrating in person with you when it is safe to do so.
