Welcome to our community of learners, doers, and changemakers! We are so excited that your family will be a part of GDS’s rich historical legacy and bright future. There are many members of our community who are looking forward to helping you acclimate to GDS and prepare you and your child(ren) for the first day of school in September!
Get Ready for GDS
Now that you have enrolled, you will start to receive information via email regarding all that you and your child(ren) will need to know and do to prepare for your first year as Hoppers. Watch your email for communication from our principals and administrators regarding orientation sessions, standard paperwork, and class registrations and placement testing for incoming Middle School and High School students. These communications can also be found on the New Families board on MyGDS.
Welcoming Committees & Buddy Families
This spring, you will be contacted by either a grade level welcoming committee or a "buddy" family, who will serve as your main contact/s to answer any questions about your transition to GDS now and throughout the school year. Buddy families are automatically assigned in grades with a small number of newly admitted students; however, all new families will have the option to sign up for a buddy family.
All Georgetown Day School parents are members of our Parent Service Association (PSA) and you will receive information and invitations to virtual welcome events over the next few months. In the fall, there will be multiple events—some purely social; others informational/educational—that will deepen your connection to our school.
MyGDS is the online portal for GDS community members. MyGDS features tools such as:
- School calendar
- Online directory
- School resources
- Latest school news
- Class pages
- School forms
Incoming families receive their MyGDS login details in April. If you did not receive this information, please contact Erica Demille.
