Parent interviews are offered on weekdays from mid-September to January. Applications do not need to be submitted before the parent interview. Students applying to Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and 1st Grade will participate in an in-person Play Visit with a small number of applicants applying to their same grade. During this fun and interactive visit, students will interact with play visit teachers, participate in group activities, and spend a short period of time working one-on-one with a teacher. Register in Ravenna.

Students applying to 2nd through 4th Grade will participate in an in-person Student Visit. Your child will spend a half day in a GDS classroom in their current grade. Register in Ravenna.

Families applying to PK, K, and 1st Grade: Parents/guardians will have the opportunity to tour the Lower/Middle School campus during their child’s play visit.

Families applying to 2nd-4th Grade: Optional group tours for parents/guardians are led by GDS parents and community members who offer a unique insight into our school. Tour spaces are limited, so we recommend registering early. Register in Ravenna.

In addition to the preliminary application, we also require a parent statement, report cards, teacher recommendations, and graded writing and math classwork for each applicant. We will not require, nor accept, admissions testing such as the WPPSI, WISC, SSAT, or ISEE. For applicants to 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades, if your child has taken a standardized test in school please make sure test results are sent with report cards. Standardized testing is required to apply to 6th - 8th grades. Applicants can submit the SSAT or ISEE. Alternatively, if the applicant has taken a standardized test at school during the 2023-24 school year (such as ERBs, CoGAT, MAP, SOL, Stanford, IOWA, CTPs, PARCC), Georgetown Day School will accept this testing in place of the SSAT or ISEE. An application and fee of $75 are required. If you need a waiver code for the $75 application fee, simply email us with your child's name and apply grade and the code will be sent to you.

Alternatively, if the applicant has taken a standardized test at school during the 2023-24 school year (such as ERBs, MAP, SOL, Stanford, IOWA, CTPs, PARCC,  CAPE), Georgetown Day School will accept this testing in place of the SSAT or ISEE. 10th - 12th grade applicants can submit a PSAT, SAT, or ACT test in place of the SSAT or ISEE.
