Learn to Change the World - Impact Lab

The Impact Lab at Georgetown Day School is the hub for community action for students in grades PK-12. Through hands-on and reflective programs, we challenge students to collaborate, build empathy, engage in dialogue across difference, explore places and perspectives beyond the classroom, and develop skills to change the world.

GDS Traditions

GDS Athletics  

At GDS, athletics are about self-discipline, dedication, pride in performance, respect for others, and a lifelong love of sport. Athletics are an integral part of the educational experience, an embodiment of our belief that improvement takes effort. Our coaches work with student-athletes to promote leadership and teamwork through competition at the highest levels of the ISL and MAC athletic leagues.

Clubs & Activities

On each divisional page, you’ll see a list of various clubs and activities available to students. Three  highlights are below.

LOWER SCHOOL

The GDS Buddy Program - Our buddy program is built to nurture leadership, empathy, and friendship across the divisions. Lower School students have meaningful opportunities to connect with Middle/High School mentors throughout the year, both during and after school. 

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Quiz Bowl - Participation in this academic competition at the Middle School level, with a club team focused on testing and expanding knowledge, preparing for competitions, and building successful teams. 

HIGH SCHOOL

Climbing - This non-department sports team welcomes everyone on board to learn to climb, with no experience necessary. Participants learn about the sport, improve their craft, and compete against other schools in the WAICL (Washington Area Interscholastic Climbing League).
