Dropping off at GDS before 7:30 a.m.? 

In our free Early Grasshopper Program, students have the opportunity to engage in fun activities each morning, including time on the playground (weather permitting) and a light breakfast. The program runs from 7:00–7:45 a.m. daily. As part of our agreement with the Tenleytown Neighborhood, all families driving to campus are required to carpool unless their children are in PK/K, have an exemption, or their children are part of our Early Grasshopper program.

The GDS 360 Extended Day Afternoon Program provides a space after school where students can build community among their peers, participate in classes that extend and complement their school day, and engage in activities which deepen their understanding of self and the world around them.

GDS 360 operates daily from the end of classes until 6:30 p.m. GDS 360 also provides programming until 6:30 p.m. on the half days before breaks when school is dismissed at noon. GDS 360 does not operate on days when GDS is officially closed, including vacations, conference days, staff in-service days, and inclement weather days.

School’s out so camp’s in!

GDS offers several break camps on days when school is out for campers aged 5 to 5th grade, open to GDS and non-GDS students, and designed to get campers thinking, moving, doing, learning, having fun, and making friends! Field-trip-based camps take advantage of our DC-community resources to get students thinking about the world in different ways, while school-based camps delve into a variety of themes aimed at getting kids to be creative, explore new ideas, and think critically. We hope you’ll join us!
