The main entrance to the High School is on the south side of Davenport Street, NW accessible from 42nd Street (located on the circle). If driving south on Wisconsin Avenue, the turn onto campus is just past the Shell station at Ellicott St., NW.
We highly encourage the use of public transit to the GDS campus as there are multiple direct bus routes and two Red Line Metro stations (Tenleytown-AU and Friendship Heights) within a few blocks of the school. You can get directions by going to the WMATA website.
If you arrive via the Tenleytown Metro, take the Wisconsin Avenue West Side exit and when you come up the escalators you will be alongside Target and the Container Store. Walk north along Wisconsin Avenue and turn left on River Road, the next street. Walk down the hill two blocks to 42nd Street. Turn right on 42nd Street; the school is two blocks on your left. Please enter through the main entrance to the high school building on Davenport Street.
We will reserve a parking spot on the surface lot across from the main entrance to the high school. Please park in your assigned spot (Deirdre will confirm the space number in a confirmation email) past the circle, in the surface lot between the two parking garages. All of the spaces are numbered. If you are visiting us for a 3:15 pm visit, you may park in any open space on the surface lot or in the high school garage (please do not use the visitor’s spots at this time).
Guests must check in with campus security on the first floor and receive a visitor’s pass. The College Counseling Office is on the second floor (two flights up), in Room 208.
