School’s out so camp’s in!

GDS offers several school break camps on days when school is out for campers age 5 to 5th grade. These day camps are open to GDS and non-GDS students alike and are designed to get campers thinking, moving, doing, learning, having fun, and making friends! Field-trip based camps will take advantage of the many community resources to get students thinking about the world in different ways while school-based camps will delve into a variety of themes aimed at getting kids to be creative, explore new ideas, and think critically. We hope you’ll join us!
GDS break camps take place at the Lower/Middle School campus, unless otherwise noted!

Break Camps

My child has food allergies, needs medication during the camp day, or has other health concerns. Is there a nurse on duty?

For all of our camps, at least one member of the staff is first aid and CPR certified.  Because our school year break camps are generally small, we do not have a camp nurse or health person on duty.  We are able to provide emergency medication such as emergency inhalers and Epi-Pens or Auvi-Qs, but are not able to distribute other medication during the camp day.  We will call you if there is any health issue that arises over the course of the camp day.

Are the GDS Break Camps open to non-GDS students?

Yes!  Non-GDS students ages 5 or older are welcome to attend all of our camps.

Do you provide a snack and/or lunch?

We provide a snack each day at camp and as part of our after camp care program.  Unless it is otherwise noted as part of the camp, we do not provide lunch.

My Child is 4 years old. May s/he participate?

Current GDS students who are 4 years old may participate. Please contact Natalie Clinton  to register. Non-gds students must be at least 5 years old.

What special support is available for medical, behavioral, or social needs?

While we offer top-notch programs, we may not be the best program or have the right supports in place for all children, especially those requiring special medical, behavioral, or social support. Please contact us with questions about whether GDS offers the right experience and supports for your child. Email us at campsandclasses@gds.org.
