For all of our camps, at least one member of the staff is first aid and CPR certified.  Because our school year break camps are generally small, we do not have a camp nurse or health person on duty.  We are able to provide emergency medication such as emergency inhalers and Epi-Pens or Auvi-Qs, but are not able to distribute other medication during the camp day.  We will call you if there is any health issue that arises over the course of the camp day.

Yes!  Non-GDS students age 4 to 4th grade are welcome to attend all of our camps. 

We provide a snack each day at camp and as part of our after camp care program.  Unless it is otherwise noted as part of the camp, we do not provide lunch.

Camp ends at 4:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted. Campers remaining on campus at 4:10 p.m. will be charged $15 for each 10-minute period, rounded up, by the School.

GDS and GDS Break Camp Programs reserves the right to cancel any camp or program based on enrollment or other circumstances. Should GDS cancel a program in which you or your child are enrolled, you will be offered a full refund or credit to another camp or program.

When you register for Break Camp there is a non-refundable fee of $10. If you cancel prior to 14 days before the Break Camp, we will refund your money minus the $10 deposit. If you cancel 7-14 days before the break camp you will be given a 50% refund. If you cancel within 7 days of the break camp, no refunds will be provided.

In the case of inclement weather, if the Federal Government or DC Public Schools are closed, GDS will be closed. If a break camp is canceled due to inclement weather, this information will be e-mailed out and posted online by 6:00 am. You will receive a refund for the day only in the event the program is canceled due to inclement weather. (No refund or credit will be given in case of a late-start.)

Limited financial aid is available for children receiving financial aid at GDS during the school year. There is a flat fee for financial aid recipients. Please email Malik Watkins at mwatkins@gds.org to inquire.
