GDS filed the PUD application
A PUD is a Planned Unit Development that must go through the DC Zoning Commission for approvals—and this must happen prior to beginning to construct the buildings. After engaging with our internal community and the Tenleytown community over the past 16 months, GDS has now taken the first formal step in the PUD process by filing the application with the Zoning Commission.

Here is important information about the filing:
  • This filing is an important point in the process, but not a final step.
  • Filing the application allows GDS to get on the schedule for a "set down meeting," which is typically about six weeks after filing. At the set down meeting, the Zoning Commission will determine whether the application is ready to move on to a public hearing. 
  • We anticipate that the Zoning Commission will then schedule a public hearing for spring 2016.
  • The GDS application includes the massing (i.e., height and density) of all the buildings, concept design, traffic management plan, landscape plan, Tenleytown community amenities, a rough idea of what will be on the inside of the buildings, and a rationale for the PUD.
