February Town Hall 2019
The Town Hall meeting was held at Georgetown Day School High School. In attendance from Georgetown Day School was Jeffrey Houser and Kristina Lennox. In attendance from DAVIS Construction, our General Contractor, was Chad Oursler. From GreenBench Companies, Gary Kressler and Dan Bonilla were also in attendance, as our project management team for the construction part of the project.
Major topics of conversation were related to the scheduled presentation agenda: project updates and project timeline. There was positivity surrounding the construction staging on River Road for the construction of the new garage entrance and the site work by the High School garage. Another point of topic was regarding the safety of the tower crane in the evenings and the standard protocol for safety and stabilization. The tower crane arm cannot be locked in place overnight, but free moving to avoid any high winds from destabilizing the crane foundation. The last topic reviewed was regarding the quantity of the trees and plants replacing the cut down and/or removed trees and planted, which is typically a 2:1 or 3:1 replacement ratio rule of thumb.
The attendees have positively confirmed that GDS’s continued commitment to open communication with the community via the monthly Town Hall meetings and routine updates posted on the School Unification section of the GDS website has been helpful to all. Being able to know ahead of time the construction activity milestones from the past month and a description of what is expected to occur in the coming month allows all community members to be tuned into the project timeline and progress.
The next scheduled Town Hall meeting will be on Wednesday, March 13th, at the Georgetown Day School High School.
