Women’s Varsity Teams Advance in DC State Tournament

Danny Stock
Congratulations to our Women's Varsity Soccer team for a great performance in the championship game of the DC State tournament! We are so proud of their excellent season (Top 10 in the DC area, 2nd place in the DC State tournament, and 2nd in the ISL AA division) as well as the leadership of the coaches and seniors. Athletic director Kathy Hudson proudly announced, "Thank you to all the students, faculty and parents who came out to support the Women's Varsity Soccer team this afternoon in the DC State Championship game. The team played a great game and came up just short, losing 2-1. They fought hard and it was exciting to the end. Congratulations on an excellent season."

Congratulations to our Women’s Varsity Soccer team who defeated the Bell School 5-0 in the semifinals Wednesday to advance to the finals of the DC State tournament! Come support them on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Catholic University. The team previously defeated St. John’s 4-1 in the first round. The Hoppers’ record (11-3-1) has earned them the 2nd place ranking in the ISL AA Division for the season. They’ve also earned a spot on the Washington Post’s Girls’ Soccer Top 10.

Big congratulations also to our Women's Varsity Volleyball team who defeated Capital City 3-1 to advance to the semifinals of the DC State tournament. Hats off to a terrific season from the volleyball team in the tournament. We send out huge appreciation for our seniors Sarah Cooper, Thandie Eversley and Amanda Manoogian who have now completed their final season with varsity volleyball.
