GDS’s High School maker in residence Matthew Bachiochi is leading a school-wide, thematic maker project that students can join from home. Last week we shared his introduction to the project, and this week we are pleased to bring you Maker Project #1: Make a Laptop Stand! In the video, Matthew takes you step-by-step through the process of building this workspace-enhancing item at home.

For this project, you’ll need:

  • A ruler
  • Paper
  • A pencil
  • Sturdy scissors (adult supervision)
  • Cardboard
  • (Optional) Decorations: colored pencils, stickers, etc.

Watch the video below. Click here for step-by-step instructions and a template from Matthew.

Shortcut Alert: You can try this template that Matthew has prepared for you!

Be a featured GDS Maker: The best part of all? Matthew wants to see and feature your designs. Send Matthew pictures or videos as you build and also once you have finished and decorated your laptop stand.
