Create. Present. Play. Evaluate.

Danny Stock

High School Computer Science students designed games and apps in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and presented them for review by 4th grade students. The 4th graders came, clipboards in hand, to evaluate the fun-factor and playability of each game, while the creators discussed their work. There were musical games, puzzle games, old-fashioned “Space Lasers,” and even a chatrooms platform. The High School students found value in having a low-key audience evaluate and beta test their work; the 4th graders found inspiration in observing the accessibility of computer science for all kinds of students. The mingling of Lower and High School students alongside faculty created a positive collaborative energy that was appreciated by all.
