PSA Community Service: Healthy Meals
Danny Stock
The GDS Parent Service Association (PSA) kicked off its first off-site community service project of the year in partnership with DC Central Kitchen, a nonprofit and social enterprise that combats hunger and poverty through job training and job creation. Many thanks to the 20 parents and children, who joined on Sunday, October 1 to prepare healthy meals for local communities. They made 1,400 meals, chopped 200 lbs of carrots, made snack packs, and chopped even more vegetables! The CEO of DC Central Kitchen, Mike Curtain, made a special appearance to thank everyone for their work. All the volunteers had a great time and are ready to do it again!
Stay tuned for more service opportunities with the GDS PSA!
