Head of School Search
After many years of extraordinary leadership, Russell Shaw has announced that he will conclude his tenure as Head of School at Georgetown Day School at the end of the 2025–26 academic year. In anticipation of this important transition, the GDS Board of Trustees has launched a comprehensive search for the school’s next Head of School.
To lead this effort, the Board has appointed a Head of School Search Committee and engaged Isaacson, Miller (IM), a highly-regarded national search firm with deep experience partnering with independent schools such as GDS.
This webpage will serve as the central resource for all updates related to the search, including announcements, key milestones, and ways for the entire GDS community to participate in this important process. Transparent and substantive community engagement is critical to the success of the search, and we look forward to your engagement as we chart the course for GDS’s next chapter.
You may contact the search committee with comments or questions at HOSsearch@gds.org.
