GDS Jazz Festival

The GDS Jazz Festival hosts area high school bands in adjudicated performances as well as performances and masterclasses by local and internationally-acclaimed guest artists. Resident clinicians and featured performers give workshops on topics including brass, woodwinds, rhythm section, improvisation, composing, music business, and many topics germane to the jazz and creative music scenes. All events are free and open to the public.

  • 2017

    The 2017 GDS Jazz Festival will feature performances by bands from Georgetown Day School, Edmund Burke, Sidwell, and Maret. There will be performances by faculty and clinicians guitarist Aaron Quinn and drummer Deric Dickens, both from Brooklyn, NY.

    The day concludes with a masterclass by pianist Ran Blake and saxophonist Ricky Ford, followed by a performance of the duo.
