 | From the College Counselors In all areas of school life, Georgetown Day School is dedicated to providing a supportive educational atmosphere in which teachers challenge the intellectual, creative, and physical abilities of high school students while fostering a strength of character and a concern for others. From the earliest grades, we encourage students to wonder, to inquire, to be self reliant, and to be cooperative participants in the educational process, laying the foundation for a lifelong love of learning and a commitment to community.
We ask you to approach the college process by employing these same fundamental principles. The college application process is filled with both challenges and opportunities. Students and parents weather intense pressures—some genuine, some media-fed. We, the GDS College Counseling Staff, firmly believe that there are no best colleges, only colleges that are best for individual students.
GDS has three full-time college counselors with extensive college admissions and college counseling experience. We have the luxury of providing juniors and seniors with individual attention and counseling throughout the college process. We enjoy getting to know the students and relish the opportunity to watch them grow during this exciting time.
