Those planning to attend should RSVP to Darren Silvis at dsilvis@gds.org or call (202) 295-1062 by November 26. 10th Annual Benjamin Cooper Memorial Lecture Alumni are invited to attend this year's Benjamin Cooper Memorial Lecture on Monday, November 19 at 7:30 p.m. at Washington Hebrew Congregation. This year's lecture will feature John Hope Franklin, a United States historian and past president of the American Historical Association. Professor Emeritus of History at Duke University, he is best known for his work From Slavery to Freedom, first published in 1947. In 1995, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian honor. The lecture is free but RSVP is required by November 16.
