Alumni in Boston Attend GDS Reception
Jamie Harmon '89 hosted 25 alumni and their guests at his home in late November. Jamie lives very close to the Boston Common and alumni were happy to re-connect with GDS staffers, including high school principal Kevin Barr.

GDS Sends Year-End Student Video to Alumni Alumni, current parents, and current grandparents received a special year-end e-mail video message from Head of School Peter Branch. The video has also been posted on YouTube and can be viewed and passed along to friends and family.

GDS Will Hit the Road for Alumni Receptions
GDS will host regional alumni receptions throughout the winter and spring around the country. Alumni in these areas should be on the lookout for invites via mail and e-mail in February.

Sekou Andrews '90 Presents at High School Assembly
Rolling off of a very successful two-month stint at the Signature Theatre in Arlington, Virginia, Sekou Andrews '90 and writing partner Steve Connell brought the magic of their show "The Word Begins" to a weekly high school assembly in late November.

Girl's Soccer Coach Named Coach of the Year!
GDS coach Katie Redmond was named "Coach of the Year" by the Washington Post in December. Redmond began coaching the girl's soccer team in the fall of 2005. Additionally, junior Alex Owens was named to the girls' first team by the Post.

Former GDS Teacher Passes Away
Joan Foster, a former fourth grade teacher, died on November 1, 2007 in Macon, Ga. A memorial service will be held near Joan's home in Glen Echo, Md., on Saturday, January 26 at 3:00 p.m. Lower school principal Gloria Runyon will speak at the memorial.
