January 2008 Alumni in Boston Attend GDS Reception Jamie Harmon '89 hosted 25 alumni and their guests at his home in late November. Jamie lives very close to the Boston Common and alumni were happy to re-connect with GDS staffers, including high school principal Kevin Barr. Read More! » Girl's Soccer Coach Named Coach of the Year! GDS coach Katie Redmond was named "Coach of the Year" by the Washington Post in December. Redmond began coaching the girl's soccer team in the fall of 2005. Additionally, junior Alex Owens was named to the girls' first team by the Post. Former GDS Teacher Passes Away Joan Foster, a former fourth grade teacher, died on November 1, 2007 in Macon, Ga. A memorial service will be held near Joan's home in Glen Echo, Md., on Saturday, January 26 at 3:00 p.m. Lower school principal Gloria Runyon will speak at the memorial.
