Sixth Annual GDS Alumni Challenge Two Mile Run

Did you run while attending GDS? Do you currently run? The challenge is to run again. Current team members, alumni runners, and members of the GDS community are invited to participate in the sixth annual GDS Alumni Challenge Two Mile Run. On Saturday, August 16, meet at the parking lot of Fletcher's Boathouse in Washington (Canal Road at Reservoir Road) for a 10:00 a.m. start (rain or shine). Alumni Association Hosts Annual Senior/Parent Breakfast

On Wednesday, May 28, the Board of the GDS Alumni Association hosted the 10th Annual Senior/Parent Breakfast. This annual tradition began as a way for alums to connect with soon-to-be graduates and their parents. Despite the windy weather, the event saw a great turnout in the library.  GDS alumni are invited to return to the High School for the annual alumni chili bowl on Friday, November 23 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Enjoy chili from Ben's Chili Bowl, hit the soccer field for games refereed by Coach Harold Newton, and tour the High School! GDS Alums Return for Reunion 2007
 More than 225 GDS alumni returned to the school for reunion on October 20. Alumni from the classes of '72, '77, '82, '87, '92, '97, & '02 were celebrated.

Alumni Challenge 2K Run/Walk in August
 This year's "Alumni Challenge 2 Mile Run/Walk" was held on Saturday, August 18, 10:00 AM at the Fletcher's Boathouse parking lot, at 4940 Canal Road, NW.
Current track team members, alumni runners, and members of the GDS community (including parents) were invited to participate in the Fifth Annual GDS Alumni Challenge Two-Mile Run. You may walk, run, or race. The two-mile run followed the C&O Canal Towpath and the Capital Crescent Trail.
It was the most successful run yet with 40 participants and another dozen or so spectators. The Alumni won the competition and outnumbered the current team members significantly. A good time was had by all in the mild and sunny weather.
