It is with overwhelming sadness that Georgetown Day School announces the death of Cecilia Ekperi, Class of 2005. A young woman of inestimable gifts, Cecilia had just completed her freshman year at Harvard and was home for the summer when she collapsed Friday, July 6, while playing basketball. Our heart goes out to Cecilia’s family and friends and all those who have come to know, admire and love her.
Georgetown Day School is honored to establish a scholarship fund in Cecilia's memory.
The Cecilia Ekperi '05 Memorial Scholarship Fund
The Cecilia Ekperi '05 Memorial Scholarship Fund will be awarded to a deserving scholar-athlete who excels in academic performance, athletic excellence, and who displays a keen awareness and respect for the importance of all humankind in the struggle toward improving the world, one community at a time.
