Testing
Lower School
Lower School applicants are
required to submit the results of
standardized testing. Because Georgetown
Day School does not administer
standardized admissions tests, testing
must be scheduled by parents with an
independent educational consultant.
Although GDS does not endorse
particular consultants, the Admissions
Office can provide a list of local
testers. Area independent schools
share test results. Testing fees range
from $225–$325; please contact the
Admissions Office to discuss possibilities
for a reduction of the test fee.
- Applicants to Pre-kindergarten
and kindergarten must take the
WPPSI-III.
- Applicants to 1st grade must take
the WPPSI-III unless the applicant
is already 6 years old at the time
of testing, in which case he or she
should take the WISC-IV.
- Applicants to the second through
fifth grade must take the WISC-IV.
Test results must be submitted to the
School by January 29, 2008.
Middle and High School
Middle and High School applicants
are required to submit the results
of standardized testing. Because
Georgetown Day School does not
administer standardized admissions
tests, testing must be scheduled with
an appropriate testing organization.
Tests are administered locally at sites
listed in materials included with this
admissions packet.
Applicants to the Middle School and High School must take either the
- SSAT
Secondary School Admissions Test
GDS School Code: 3370
or
- ISEE
Independent School Entrance Exam
GDS School Code: 090081
When registering for these tests, use the school code numbers above to assure that the official scores are sent to the GDS Admissions Office.
The SSAT must be taken no later than January 12, 2008, and the ISEE must be taken no later than January 19, 2008 (tentative date). Test results must be submitted to the School by January 29, 2008.

Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and First Grade

helpful to the Admissions Committee.

Second–twelfth grade applicants
must submit official transcripts to the
Admissions Office. Transcripts should
include grades and /or evaluations
from the previous school year through
the middle of the current year. Please
